Rich
Mccready
was influenced by the sounds of music from artists like
Bob Wills, Vern Gosdin, Merle Haggard and George Strait.
The combination of these artist influences and his
natural talent resulted in a “true traditional country
sound”. Traditional Country…..I’ve been told that
growing up on a ranch, participating in rodeo events all
my life and I suppose having my own musical style
…befits my claim and my desire to continue what I love
doing…..staying close to “traditional” country roots. In
1992, McCready moved to Nashville and began working on
his craft while working his day job at a horse ranch for
Brent Maher. He soon signed with Magnatone Records. By
1995, McCready released “Hang-in On”. By the end of
1996, he had 2 songs in the top 40.
